There might have been a bit of controversy about the first goal but there was nothing controversial about United's overall performance as they swept aside a supremely underwhelming Aston Villa side at the weekend and recovered from their midweek blip against Wigan Athletic. United's shock 1-0 loss to Wigan has certainly ensured that the Premier League will be interesting all the way up until the final day – particularly if City manage to win over United at Eastlands on April 30.

The five point gap would be reduced to a mere two points if United drop the match away to City – should United fail to win that one then they will need to win both of their next matches.
City remain the betting favourites for the crunch clash at the end of the month – surely the closest thing that England has had to a Classico in quite some time.
The cross-town rivals will certainly see no love lost here and Carlos Tevez in particular will be keen to put on a show and get revenge on Sir Alex Ferguson.
