United Odds-On For Premier League Title

Manchester United and Manchester City are both level on 16 points and looking good value for their leads on top of the Premier League table at this early stage in the season. Both sides have started extremely brightly this season with both sides surprising many observers with the sheer ferocity of some of their victories.

With Manchester City it has much more to do with superstar big money signings as they try to purchase players capable of not just qualifying for but challenging for the Champions League trophy. The likes of Edin Dzeko got the summer off to a big start but it has been the additions of David Silva and Sergio Aguero that have really brought City the type of verve their owners have craved.

All does not appear to be well at City and their fans will certainly be hoping that the Tevez saga boils over quickly and doesn't do much to divide the dressing room. Tevez reportedly refused to come off the bench in their mid-week Champions League clash – proving to be one of the most polarizing demonstrations of player-power in years.

Cheekily, West Ham have already submitted a loan bid for Tevez – only to be rebuffed by Robert Mancini.

Manchester United also made a few signings this summer but they were lower-key additions (well, for United at least) and the absence of Wesley Sneijder proved a bit of a disappointment for some. However, the resilience of Nani and the added dimension that Anderson has begun adding to midfield has proved an able replacement. Prior to sustaining injury, Tom Cleverley was making some serious headway about his claims in the United first team.

Phil Jones and Ashley Young, along with Chris Smalling, have looked sharp additions that have added to a new, youthful look to Fergie's latest United team.

Punters will find the Red Devils odds-on already for Premier League success with a 4/5 price tag putting them ahead of 2/1 Manchester City. Chelsea remain the only other plausible contender at 9/2 before the odds take a big jump to 25/1 for Liverpool and 50/1 for Arsenal.
