United Ready to Wrap Up Title

Fergie may be guiding United to title 19

Sir Alex Ferguson will be making no mistakes as he looks to wrap up the Premier League title with a win away at Blackburn.

United produced a good win over Chelsea to put themselves in the dominant position heading into the last two games of the season. A win at Blackburn will mean the club goes beyond Liverpool’s previous record of 18 league titles. There has never been greater incentive for the club to win an away league match.

The back of the team should pick itself with Edwin Van Der Sar due to play his last away game in English football. He will control a defence that should see Patrice Evra come back into the side and Fabio Da Silva playing down the right. Rio Ferdinand and captain Nemanja Vidic should take up the two central defensive positions.

Antonio Valencia has been superb in the last few games and he will start down the right hand side of the team. Either Nani or Park Ji-Sung will play down the other wing which means Ferguson can either play an attacking player to go for the win or a defensively able winger who can cope against any Blackburn counter attacks.

Ryan Giggs should partner Michael Carrick in the middle of the pitch. Giggs has been better than ever this season and seems to relish the role of playing in behind the two main strikers. He could also play out on the left of the team with Paul Scholes playing in the middle although this would mean less pace down the left flank.

There is no discussion over who will play in attack with Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney bound to start the game. The pair have developed a tremendous understanding which is creating chaos in the defence of opposition sides. Dimitar Berbatov is the selection to come in if Ferguson wants to protect either of these players for the Champions League final.

Darren Fletcher should take a place on the bench as he gets stronger from a virus that kept him out of the game for two months. Fletcher is coming back in just as the games get more important and his experience in the middle of the team could prove vital. Anderson may also miss out after playing well against Schalke in the recent Champions League semi-final.

In terms of injuries the only serious doubt is Rafael Da Silva although he has been training and could be a substitute in this game. Both of the Da Silva brothers look equally good as each other and both seem good enough to step in at the last moment if Ferguson needs them to.

United should win this match comfortably although one of their old rivals will try everything to trip them up.
