US OPEN 2010 FINAL BETTING TIPS NADAL VS DJOKOVIC

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are on the verge of deciding the 2010 US Open title and as the premier match nigh-approaches and tennis fans worldwide countdown to the first strike of the ball, the all-important question is almost upon us: who will raise the trophy? The excitement in the markets is palpable, indeed.
Admittedly, it’s not the rivalry the tennis world was panting after; the sought-after Nadal-Federer rivalry has delivered some of the most memorable major finals in Melbourne, Paris and London and, understandably, the tennis world had hoped to will it upon New York on Sunday.
The Nadal-Djokovic rivalry is, nonetheless, a compelling rivalry but as it is enjoying its debut on the big stage, we are yet to see whether it will measure up to its relative.
In terms of head-to-heads, the rivalries are on par – Nadal leads both Federer and Djokovic by 14-7 lifetime.
Nadal goes into this clash as the firm favourite in the market. William Hill tips Nadal at 1/3 to win outright while Djokovic is listed at 12/5.
Nadal is through to his first-ever US Open final and his run is marked by formidable form. He’s advanced without dropping a set and dropping serve only twice – once against Verdasco and once against Youzhny.
It’s open to debate whether Nadal’s incredible run is down to an easy draw or amazing form. What is obvious, however, is he’s improved his hard court game significantly, especially his serve. This stellar turnaround augurs well for him in the final, against a very tough opponent.
Nadal to win in straight sets is tipped on the large side of evens, a smidgen above evens at 13/8. To win 3-1 or 3-2 is tipped at 5-2 and 5-1, respectively.
The sleeper Serb proved he was a legitimate contender when he upended five-time champion Roger Federer. If there were any reservations about him, I think we can all agree they’ve been put to rest.
Djokovic leads Nadal 7-2 on hard courts lifetime, which is a convincing mark and makes him a tempting underdog play. To beat Nadal in straights he’s tipped large at 10/1. To win by a 3-1 and 3-2 score he’s tipped more favourably, at 7/1 and 6/1, respectively.
If this matchup lives up to the hype and expectation, and falls in line with some of their better accounts (the Madrid Masters semis last year, comes to mind), we should be in for a thrilling contest and tons of excitement in the Live-In-Play markets that are poised to get underway as soon as they take to court.
