US OPEN FINAL LIVE BETTING NADAL VS DJOKOVIC RAINED OUT AGAIN
Flushing Meadows, New York – The much-anticipated 2010 US Open men's singles finals between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic finally got underway today. The action on the court was unfolding brilliantly and Live-In-Play markets were keeping pace nicely when....surprise, surprise...the elements came back for an encore performance, almost two hours into the match. This time, arriving with not just the rain but it’s flashier siblings, thunder and lightning.
Live-In-Play betting at William Hill had been hopping along on Nadal’s verve and swagger as he raced to a first set lead. In taking the first set, Nadal underscored his favourite status in the market that had him tipped as the 1/3 favourite ahead of the clash. Nadal’s statistic at the majors, a record 105-1 win-loss ratio seemed to augur well for him and his fans and backers.
Certainly, Djokovic appreciated the import as he smashed his racquet to smithereens; clearly, the offensive article had been solely responsible for letting the set go and deserved a beating.
The second set got off to a rocky start for the Spaniard as he quickly fell behind 1-4 to Djokovic. The Serbian was seeing the ball better and striking it more cleanly. Nadal, at the same time, started to look a bit more tentative. Heck, history is on the line, can you blame the guy.
As quickly as Djokovic had earned the lead in the second set, so he lost it; Nadal stormed back to level the match at 4-4 and on the back of that momentum his price started to shorten drastically.
At 4-4, 30-30 in the second set the rain began to pitter-patter on court and on cue the match was suspended and the players ushered into the locker rooms.
As things currently stand in the Live betting markets, Nadal’s price stands at 1/9 to win the match; Djokovic at a whopping 5/1.
It remains to be seen whether this storm descending upon New York will cause just a short delay or a lengthier interlude. Reports circulating right now confirm the match will restart but not before 7:30 PM EST (4:30 Pacific Time). Should things get worse, heaven forbid, we could be kept in suspense for another 24 hours. As if this matchup needed anymore drama.
