- By A.J. Ryder on August 16, 2016 16:41 GMTAfter having watched Usain Bolt pull off another incredible victory in the men's 100-meter dash at the Olympics, we have seen his odds to win the 200 meter dash shortened considerably down to a price as low as 1/16 for the outright victory. There is a lot to like about his ability to pull off magical performances over and over again on the biggest stage in the world.
After some controversial comments from opponents Bolt has been able to answer all those questions and then some as he towered over the field during his famous victory in Rio at the men's 100 meter dash.
With Bolt set to dominate this race unless something truly catastrophic happens to his performance, you have to assume is that the only real interesting bedding opportunity here is weather he is able to set a new world record for the men's 200-meter dash at the 2016 Olympics.
As it currently stands, the bookmakers have floated a chance for Usain Bolt to set the new men's 200-meter dash record at a price of about 7/2. You can back the odds on that not to happen at a slim price of 1/9. it's going to be interesting to see how the odds shift around during the build-up to the race as you have to assume the vast bulk of the wagering action will be focused on what people want to see - which is Usain Bolt setting another world record.
The likes of Justin Gatlin appear to be the only possible Challenger two bolts attempt to secure another gold medal. And he is very long odds to wind up on top of the podium itself once again. You will find him trading at a price of around 11/1 for the outright victory in the men's 200-meter dash.
