2019 PDC World Darts Championship
- By A.J. The bookmakers have plenty of interesting markets available and the live betting action on this event is always one of the most anticipated of the calendar year.
There is plenty to like about the way the tournament has been shaping up so far this holiday season and the action at the Ally Pally is second to none.
It’s probably not a huge surprise that world #1 Michael Van Gerwen is currently topping the table and looking good so far throughout the tournament. The bookmakers have the Dutchman trading at a competitive price tag of around even money depending on whom you’re wagering with.
His closest competitor, and the contender who is being heavily backed to make it to the final to take on Van Gerwen, is Gerwyn Price who is trading anywhere between a 7/2 and 5/1 margin. He’s been playing some good stuff but will need to come up with a career best if he’s going to topple the likes of Michael Van Gerwen.
The odds then take a pretty big jump up to a price of around 14/1 for the next favourite contenders and that’s Gary Anderson and Peter Wright. Both have what it takes to go all the way if they can get the right draw and close out their matches quickly enough.
Other notables in the market include James Wade at 40/1, Adrian Lewis at 80/1 and Fallon Sherrock at 1000/1.
