Things are definitely starting to get interesting on the world’s biggest cycling event as the 2019 Tour De France is in full swing and starting to get really competitive. The bookmakers, as always, are offering up some really competitive odds on this competition and the wagering volume has been intense, to say the least. You can expect some interesting swings in the odds as the competition continues to unfold and there is still plenty of money to be made.

As it currently stands, Julian Alaphilippe is considered to be the outright favourite but he has been drifting a bit recently as the chasing pack appears to be catching up to him. He was hovering around an odds-on price for a while but now he has drifted out to around an 11/10 margin with several major European bookmakers.

You can bank on his ability to move through the mountain terrain and get some distance back between him and his competition but, right now, there appears to be four or five genuine contenders who might be able to usurp his lead. Geraint Thomas is trading around a 9/2 margin to win the 2019 Tour De France and he is very much in with a shout.

You’ll also find that Thibaut Pinot is in the mix with a 5/1 price placing him right alongside Thomas and he has the ability to push any of the leading contenders all the way - particularly if he gets a bit of luck.

Steven Kruiswijk is an interesting outside contender here and he’s just a shade behind the aforementioned pair with an 11/2 listing. He is a step ahead of Egan Bernal who is a 6/1 shot and then the odds take a bit of a jump to Emanuel Buchmann who trades at a solid 14/1 price that makes him an interesting each-way wager.
