Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua Betting Preview PT 2

Joshua’s outright odds to actually win the fight are currently priced around a 4/9 margin so there isn’t a huge amount of value coming in on him right now. His price was even shorter last time and he didn’t even come out of his corner to fight the seventh round.

The fact remains that Joshua has a lot more to lose here than Ruiz does and many boxing observers seem to believe that he needs to win this fight, and win it extremely well, or that his career may be able to take a negative turn that he won’t be able to recover from. Such was the hype surrounding Joshua and the intense rivalry with American Wilder that many viewed the Ruiz bout as a formality.

For Ruiz to win the fight outright, you’re looking at a relatively solid payout of around 21/10 and that’s not a bad price on a contender who was able to dispose of his opponent relatively easily last time out. It wasn’t some type of flash knockdown or weird scorecards, Ruiz just completely took Joshua apart because Joshua wasn’t tough enough to deal with him.

A price of around 21/10 looms large and you’re looking at a price of around 11/4 for Ruiz to win the bout purely by stoppage or DQ. It looks like the bookmakers are lukewarm to the idea of Joshua winning by decision or technical decision and you’ll find that outcome trading around a 7/2 price at the time of this writing.

For Ruiz to win the fight based on points, you’re looking at a hefty payout of around 15/1 with several top bookmakers.
