Fabio Capello Odds at 3/1 To Miss Euro 2012

Things are certainly getting interesting for the England side gearing up for Euro 2012 thanks to John Terry being stripped of the England captaincy last week and now we're looking at the very real possibility that Fabio Capello may be removed from his position. The rationale for many being that he isn't in the sides long-term plans anyway so why should England both to move forward into an important tournament when it isn't building for the future.

Obviously there are a lot of different opinions about this one and it certainly appears that, for now at least, we're looking at Capello staying on.

As it currently stands, Ladbrokes has priced Fabio Capello NOT to be in charge in of England's first fixture at Euro 2012 at a 3/1 price tag. England remain a 9/1 chance to win the tournament, something we don't seem to be talking about much these days, while England are a whopping 16/1 to win the tournament with ANOTHER manager.

It may seem coincidental that Harry Redknapp was acquitted of wrongdoing alongside Milan Mandaric for their alleged nefarious deeds done at Pompey so many years ago. Either way he won't be punished and was vindicated by an FA tribunal today.

Redknapp is very much in frame to take the reigns from Capello when, not if, he steps down.

England are certainly looking up against it a bit, much more so than several other recent tournaments when they went in full of confidence, there is something steely and perhaps a bit underwhelming from this England side – currently being led by Steven Gerrard.

There remains a distinct possibility, however, that packing the English team with younger and less established stars may result in a lot more appetite being demonstrated on the pitch as opposed to the disjointed efforts we've seen recently – World Cup 2010 being a perfect example. Would a shift to Harry Redknapp be a move forward or a move back in this regard? Only time will tell.
