Gloucester vs. Wasps Starting Lineups and Predictions
- By Adam Currie on September 25, 2010 09:07 GMTIn one of the most evenly contested matchups of the weekend, 8th placed Wasps travel to Kingsholm to take on 10th placed Gloucester.
However, all is not as simple as log placing suggest, with Gloucester boasting the longest current unbeaten home run in England- eight wins and a draw, since beaten by Wasps at Kingsholm last November.
Throw into the mix that Wasps have won their last five encounters against Gloucester in all competitions, and one can see that we are in for an absolute humdinger this afternoon.
For Gloucester, Tim Molenaar, Tim Taylor and Dave Attwood all make the starting XV, with Tindall, Nicky Robinson and Alex Brown all dropping to the bench
Team Lineups:
Gloucester: Sharples; Simpson-Daniel, Molenaar, Fuimaono-Sapolu, Vainikolo; Taylor, Lawson (capt); Wood, Azam, Doran-Jones, Attwood, Hamilton, Strokosch, Hazell, Deacon.
Wasps: Van Gisbergen; Varndell, Waldouck, Flutey, Lemi; Walder, Simpson; Payne, Ward, Vickery (capt), Shaw, Birkett, Worsley, Betsen, Ward-Smith.
Gloucester coach Bryan Redpath is expecting a tough clash this afternoon stating midweek that; "Wasps had a great win against Leicester last weekend so we're under no illusions that they're coming up here this weekend to try and beat us"
This game is being seen as having the potential to go down to the wire. The bookmakers have the travelling London Wasps as slight favourites at 1.8, with host Gloucester at 2.0 even; this game is too tight to call on a winning margin.
Make no mistake; this game is going to be as tight as they come. With one team boasting an impressive home record, the other boasts an equally impressive record against the other.
