Hércules Look To Obtain Services of Pedro León

Hércules still are looking to recover from the injury suffered by Tote this past weekend.  The first step in this recovery and mission to get out of relegation begins at Madrid and they will appeal to a Merengue in order to help out for the rest of the season.

Speculation was being made by the Madrid press the past few days saying that the Alicante side was interested in obtaining former Pedro León from Real Madrid until the end of the season.

On Wednesday the interest in the former Getafe man became official as Hércules technical secretary Francisco Escudero confirmed their interest in the former Spanish U-21 star.   He mentioned the León option as well as others to reload the team after the loss of Tote after he suffered a serious season=-ending injuty this past weekend against Almería. 

The only technicality that would have to be overcome by the Herculeans is on the economic front.  In order to be able to sign any player, they would have to be up to date in their current pay schedule.   This issue was a problem for them midseason as club brass were enthralled in a battle with midfielder Royston Drenthe after he and several other players were not paid for an extended period of time. 

Pedro León has seen extremely limited action during his time at Real Madrid.   León has scored two goals in 13 matches, one of them being the equalizer in the dying moments of the game against AC Milan in the Champions League group stage at the Giuseppe Meazza. 

Hércules will face Real Madrid this coming weekend at the Santiago Bernabéu as round 28 kicks off on Saturday.
