PDC World Darts Championship Betting Preview
- By A.J. Ryder on December 19, 2017 18:55 GMTSince it’s almost Christmas time you know that means one thing - a whole lot of action unfolding at the Ally Pally over the next few weeks. The PDC World Darts Championship has kicked off and you can bank on a lot of exciting betting opportunities cropping up over the Holiday Season.
There is a lot to like about this year’s iteration of the PDC World Darts Championship and you’ll find that it’s many of the usual suspects punching it out for the top position here.
As it currently stands, you’ll find that Michael Van Gerwen is trading at an odds-on price of 8/11 to win the PDC World Darts Championship. The majority of bookmakers have him trading at a 4/6 margin and that’s a pretty reasonable price, all things considered.
At this stage in the competition you can back him at a relatively high price and he looks to be facing more competition, from a wagering perspective, from Gary Anderson than his usual competitor Phil “The Power” Taylor. Anderson has been gathering a lot of steam in the past little while and he’s trading anywhere from a 5/1 all the way up to a 6/1 margin.
Phil Taylor is always worth backing in the PDC World Darts Championship over the past few decades but this time around he’s priced out at a 12/1 margin so he may be worth an each-way shot if you reckon he makes it to the final this time around. We all know what he’s capable of doing and an off day from Van Gerwen would open it right up to Taylor.
Peter Wright trades anywhere between 10/1 all the way up to a 16/1 price while Rob Cross looks an interesting outside shot at 16/1.
