2010 BREEDERS CUP ANTEPOST PRICES AND PREVIEW PART TWO

We took a look at some of the major races kicking off on November 6 for the 2010 Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs and we’ll be examining the Mile, the Turf and the Classic right here.
BREEDERS’ CUP MILE
Goldikova (Anabaa) looks for a three-peat here as the best miler on the planet looks to score in the Breeders’ Cup Mile once again. It would be incredible if she was to pull it off and it looks like it’s going to take a legendary performance to top this respected mare at her preferred distance. She’s trading at a slim 2.5 with the bookies and is sitting at 2.7 on the exchange.
Paco Boy (Desert Style) just can’t seem to get one over Goldikova, finishing second to her on a pair of occasions this year. He’s in the hunt here at 8.0 on the exchange and 7.0 with the bookies but you reckon that a Goldikova/Paco Boy forecast will be a supremely popular bet.
An interesting outside option is The Usual Q.T (Unusual Heat) if his connections decide to parachute him into this one. He’s a bit of a west coast specialist but he has shown acumen at the distance and boasts the ability to win this one if he runs a near-perfect race. He’s at 21.0 with the bookmakers and 27.0 on the exchange.
BREEDERS’ CUP TURF
Having captured the Arc De Triomphe and the Investec Derby, Workforce (King’s Best) is now considered to be the out-and-out favourite to conquer the Breeders’ Cup Turf- a tall order for a three year-old. Not a single three year-old even lined up for last year’s contest, and it’s looking like a new crop of contenders will line up for this one. Workforce is well-fancied for this one even though he is not 100% set for the race. You can back him at 2.5 with the bookmakers and 3.7 on the exchange.
Behkabad (Cape Cross) runs primarily in France and has had a bit of an up-and-down season at Chantilly and Longchamp. He’s reasonably-priced at 4.5 with the bookies and he’s at 4.7 on the exchange.
Dangerous Midge (Lion Heart) has emerged off the heritage handicap circuit to take a Group 3 score at Newbury and he is expected to ship over for a spin around the Kentucky turf. There’s a bit of a price discrepancy with his bookmaker price hovering at 11.0 and his exchange price as low at 7.6.
BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC
Both Lookin At Lucky (Smart Strike) and Zenyatta (Street Cry) trade at 5.0 prices to win the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic though you expect Zenyatta to be shorter-priced as we get closer to the off. The undefeated west coast mare will be looking to defend her Breeders’ Cup Title and retire 20/20 with a perfect record.
The Big Z has run on dirt before, twice, and won so you don’t reckon she will have many issues with the Churchill surface though a sloppy track would probably work against her a bit more than a track rated as fast. On the exchanges, Zenyatta is priced at 4.5 while Lookin At Lucky can be backed at a 5.9 price tag.
Quality Road (Elusive Quality) and Blame (Arch) are both trading at 8.0 with the bookmakers and they’re listed at 10.0 and 7.4, respectively, on the exchanges. Blame has had a solid season and could be a real factor despite being beaten by the under-rated Haynesfield (Speghtstown) in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational at Belmont in early October. The Steve Asmussen-trained colt is priced at 9.0 with the bookies and 14.0 on the exchange.
