2010 WINTER OLYMPICS MENS HALF-PIPE LATEST ODDS

We are just a short time away from the first run in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Men's Snowboard Half-Pipe competition. The big favourite coming is, without a doubt, American Shaun White and William Hill has listed him at a slim 1/4 price to win the gold medal.
It's sometimes a bit tricky betting on Alpine sports because somebody can be doing absolutely everything right, only for everything to go out the window because of a fall. That's the narrative here I think, with White competing more against himself than the other competitors. If he doesn't fall, he's going to be very hard to beat.
In terms of the other challengers, it looks like a wide-open competition and I expect the bronze and silver medals to be hotly-contested. You'll find Iouri Podladtchikov as the 2nd favourite with a 7/1 price. Peetu Piiroinen is listed at a 10/1 price while Scott Lago can be backed at 14/1. Louie Vito is also a contender at 16/1.
I expect any of these four to be on the podium.
The odds take a bit of a jump after that with Kazuhiro Kokubo at 20/1. Gregory Bretz is listed at a 25/1 price while Mathieu Crepel and Markus Keller are both available at 33/1 prices.
Other notables include Janne Korpi at 50/1, Markus Malin at 100/1, Justin Lamoureux at 125/1 and Christophe Schmidt as the 200/1 long shot.
Again, this one comes down to whether Shaun White screws up or not. We've seen plenty of big favourites turn in some disapointing performances and I have a feeling that the high-profile American rider will be in the right frame of mind and this one will likely be another feather in the cap of the Americans.
