2018/19 Champions League Betting Tips PT 1

We are now on the cusp of the new football season kicking off and you’ll find that the Champions League opening stages are already underway for qualification for a number of the smaller European sides. There is a lot to like about this year’s iteration of the tournament with a number of big names being shifted from one massive European team to another.

The bookmakers will be expecting fairly heavy volume on this one during the build-up to the season kicking off and it looks like the summer transfer season is already having a massive effect on this particular betting market.

Manchester City have played some great football over the past couple pf seasons and it now looks like they are being fancied to make that massive step in Europe and secure the 2019 Champions League Trophy this year as the outright betting favourites according to the bookmakers.

Right now, Pep Guardiola’s side are just a step ahead of Juventus - a side who had always been considered a contender in Europe but typically floated at a much higher price than they are currently trading at now - which is definitely in the mid-single digits range right now.

It appears as though the Cristiano Ronaldo factor is playing into that price fairly heavily at this point. It will be really interesting to see quite where he winds up for Juventus and whether they decide to play him in a slightly different role than the one that he had been performing in at Real Madrid.

With the Italian league a little bit more organized and less free-wheeling than what you typically find at the top Spanish clubs, Cristiano Ronaldo could find himself playing a more effective role showcasing his range of passing and experience as opposed to his outright flair.
