2019 Epsom Derby Betting Update

The next big English Classic is just around the corner and we are a few weeks out from the big meeting at Epsom where we’re going to see the Derby and the Oaks unfold. We have had a really interesting couple of weeks in the flat season since the 2000 Guineas ran at Newmarket and now we are starting to see who the key players are as they move towards the classic distance of a mile and a half.

There is plenty to like about the betting market for this one since there is no genuine ante post standout yet. You can get some great prices on several talented horses and there are some interesting outside contenders in the mix here as well.

Sir Dragonet is priced as the betting favourite right now but not by a very large margin and you can lock in a price hovering anywhere between 3/1 and a 4/1 margin with a number of top bookmakers. There are a few really good promotions that will be available for this race with a number of those bookmakers so it’s worth keeping your eye on any potential refunds or money-back specials if the favourite wins the Derby.

Broome looks to be his biggest rival alongside Anthony Van Dyck with both of them priced anywhere between a 4/1 listing and a 5/1 margin depending on which bookmaker you’re using.

Telecaster is another interesting option here and he’s entering each-way territory with an 8/1 price and his declaration for the derby is definitely a firm commitment since he’s unlikely to anywhere else. Bankok and Japan are both available at around a 9/1 margin.

Circus Maximus is emerging as a really interesting outside contender here as well and you can back him anywhere between a 16/1 or a 20/1 price tag with most major bookmakers.
