Aintree Ground Could See Watering On Friday

Despite virtually all jockeys taking mounts at this year's Grand National Meet at Aintree describing the going as "beautiful", it appears as though Clerk of the couse Andrew Tulloch could be set to water the ground ahead of Friday's card.

The current weather forecast calls for a repeat of the warm weather we saw during Thursday's action. While the move might certainly take some horses out of the equation, it's obvious that the grounds crew thinks its a wise decision.

Speaking to the Racing Post, Tulloch declared "We're on our widest configuration at the moment and everything on the straight will come in roughly three or four yards... If we need to water tomorrow we will do."

Officially, the ground is considered to be good to soft (good in places on the Mildmay and Hurdles Course).

The Melling Chase and the Sefton Novices' Hurdle are the top Grade 1's set to run at Aintree on Friday as virtually everybody gets ready for the National on Saturday.
