Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson Rematch Odds Released

High-profile British boxer Amir Khan has declared that he's out for justice in his recently confirmed rematch against Lamont Peterson – the fight is scheduled for May 19. The previous fight proved an upset which then dissolved into controversy and, ultimately, farce as Khan issued concerns about points deductions by the referee prior to dropping the accusation.

Talk of a “mystery man” in the media who manipulated the score proved to be rife and it appears as though there is still plenty of bad blood in a war that went from the ring, to Twitter, to the mainstream media and now appears to be heading back to the ring.

Bookmakers have already listed Amir Khan's odds to beat Lamont Peterson at a slim 1/4 margin while Peterson is 3/1 to retain his title.

It will be especially interesting should the fight head back to the judges – particularly if the scoring is especially close.

Punters will find that bookies have listed the possibility of going to the judges scorecards at an odds-on price of 4/5. Amir Khan to win by a decision or technical decision is paying out at a 5/4 margin. Khan to win by KO or TKO, which he is claiming as the inevitable outcome, is priced at an 11/8 listing.

Peterson to win by decision is priced at 7/1 while a KO or TKO victory sits at 6/1.

The odds are 12/1 that the fight will end in the first round – something that Khan knows a thing or two about.

The rematch was ordered by the WBA after they admitted to multiple irregularities in the first contest – Peterson was forced to fight Khan within 180 days.
