We have already seen some pretty potent swings in the outright market for the Manchester United vs Real Madrid 2nd leg fixture and it looks to be United taking the bulk of the smart money here.

United have been taken into 21/10 from 23/10 as punters begin lumping their hard-earned on Sir Alex Ferguson’s men after a steady stream of solid performances - particularly at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid continue to get the edge in regards to outright qualification and they are priced out at around 4/6 with United available at an 11/10 price tag. That option includes extra-time and penalties, effectively a wager on progression to the next round.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the outright favourite to grab a goal at any point in the match and is, currently, the only option with an odds-on price. Punters will find him trading at around 10/11 while Robin Van Persie can be backed at even money to grab a goal in front of his home fans.

Wayne Rooney boasts a solid strike rate in the Premier League this season and he’s available at a tidy 15/8 price to score at any point in the match. He is also at 7/1 to score first or last and you do reckon that he won’t be having to drop quite as deep to pick up the ball here - particularly if Shinji Kagawa is named in the starting line-up.

Having notched a hat trick at the weekend, Kagawa comes into this one full of momentum and he’s a tidy 5/1 to score at any point in the match. He didn’t have a particularly good first leg but looks like he could do some damage here - it’s probably worth waiting until you see his name on the team sheet before wagering any substantial sums on him.

Another one to watch for a goal is Rafael who trades at a hefty 8/1.
