The bookmakers seem fully confident in England’s ability to get the job done in front of their home fans and they have floated the Three Lions at a 1.50 price tag for the outright victory against Norway. The draw can be backed at 4.0 and wouldn’t be a total disaster but would certainly have people scratching their heads and throwing the usual amount of negativity at the English team.

Should Norway be able to pull off the away victory (and it may seem more likely with so many new players in the side) they will reward at an impressive price of 7.5 and it will be interesting to see how much late money they actually take.

The scoreline isn’t expected to be a truly impressive one even in the sense of an English victory with a 6.0 listing on a 1-0 or 2-0 win. Punters can back England on the (-1.0) handicap at a 2.25 price and that will likely attract some attention. The real bet for this one is likely to be draw/England in the half-time/full-time market as sometimes international friendlies take a while to get going and neither team really commits too much forward. England are rewarding at a 3.75 margin to pull that one off and that’s in contrast to England/England at a slim 2.20.

Daniel Sturridge is the favoured first goalscorer here and that indicates the bookmakers belief that Wayne Rooney is likely to play as a #10 and be involved much more in the build-up than the actual finishing. You’ll find Sturridge available at a 4.50 price to grab the opener while Rooney can be backed at a 5.50 margin.

Raheem Sterling might be worth a bet at an 8.0 margin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also entices with a solid listing of 9.0 to get on the scoresheet first.
