England vs Scotland International Friendly Betting Tips Part 1

It’s not often that we get to see England face off against other sides from the home nations but there is going to be lots of quality on display this Wednesday as the Three Lions face off against Scotland in an international friendly match at Wembley. The oldest international fixture in the world, first played in 1872, means that there is a lot more than just a game of football at stake.

While Scotland may not be the most widely-regarded international side in the world, they always are able to step it up a gear when they play against their southern neighbours and the match is always a widely-televised event across the globe. The line-ups for this international friendly are looking especially interesting with the football seasons still just getting underway in the next week or so.

Expect plenty of banter over the presence of Wayne Rooney during the build-up to this match and it’s more than likely that speculation will reach a fever pitch by the time the England side is actually named. With Rooney missing United’s community shield victory due to a shoulder injury, and persisting controversy surrounding a possible “falling out” with David Moyes, Rooney’s potential move to Chelsea will be on everybody’s lips and if he actually starts the match you can expect him to put in as good a shift as possible.

You do have to wonder whether Roy Hodgson will be under orders from David Moyes to keep Rooney’s play limited so that he doesn’t bugger up his shoulder even more in a friendly just before the season kicks off.

In reality, an injury to Rooney plays more into David Moyes favour as it will potentially put off a third bid by Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho - who last submitted an offer for over 25 million plus add-ons for the seemingly want-away United star.
