There is an extremely competitive race happening at the bottom of the English Premier League in the betting markets for relegation. Crystal Palace are a slim 1/6 shot and looking extremely likely to go straight back down to the Championship.

Beyond that, it really looks absolutely wide open for who drops through the trap door.
Sunderland, having just gotten rid of controversial manager Paolo Di Canio, are listed at evens for relegation while Hull City - who many considered a dead-ringer to drop down to the Championship, are trading at a 2/1 price if they are relegated.
Cardiff continue to put together some strong results and you’ll find the other Welsh side available at a 9/4 listing. Fulham are 11/4 and really looking like things could go from bad to worse in a little bit of Martin Jol can’t get things back on track easily enough.
Norwich are also priced at 11/4 but they will probably get a bit better as the season goes on.
For anybody who is wondering, Manchester United are listed at 1000/1 to be relegated this year.
The mere fact that United are listed at a slightly shorter price than some of the traditional top four in the English Premier League really does speak volumes. It seems as though this really is a new era at Old Trafford - one with significantly lowered expectations.
