English Premier League Relegation Update PT 2

The main contenders expected to fill in the other two relegation places this year could be the likes of Stoke City - who have firmly established themselves as a solid mid-table English Premier League side over the past few years. This was especially true when they were under Tony Pulis and Owen Coyle but right now they look to be relatively out of ideas despite some solid performances over the past couple of weeks.

It could wind up being too little too late for the Potters, who have been in the English Premier League for longer than a decade. Though with a couple of important victories against English Premier League relegation rivals then it could be a very different story quickly.

The other main relegation contender appears to be the promoted side Huddersfield, who have put in some good performances this year but look out of their depth against some of the more accomplished teams in the league. The fact remains, however, that losing to the bigger teams when you’re a promoted side is generally a given - it’s the victories against the other strugglers that will demonstrate your English Premier League fate.

West Bromwich sit on 20 points and appear to be virtually relegated, while Stoke City sit on 27 points and Southampton retain 28 points. Both West Ham and Crystal Palace are not out of the woods either and they can both be found sitting on a grand total of 30 points.

Huddersfield sit on 31 points alongside Swansea while Newcastle are also in the relegation mix with a total of 34 points though they do appear to be relatively safe barring a late season collapse.
