Sunderland will be buoyed by vanquishing the beleaguered Manchester United in the League Cup -defeating them on penalties to take the leg over two ties. Expect them to be a bit tired but in confident mood as they face upstart Kidderminster Harriers, who defeated Peterborough to clinch a famous night at the Stadium of Light. They wound up losing out to Dartford in midweek and will be looking to build on their Cup form, which can be tricky to deal with as these smaller sides often have everything to play for. This is in sharp contrast with some club sides who have players competing on several fronts.

The big question is whether Sunderland will have the tired legs that may give the Harriers a decided advantage. Sunderland are trading at a very short price of 1.28 while Kidderminster are an interesting 10.0 shot with most major bookmakers. Expect a number of one-off bets on the upstart side as there will be plenty of City, Arsenal and Chelsea fans looking to see the side that just beat Man United in the League Cup be ousted from the FA Cup by a minnow side.

Even Kidderminster to force a replay would trade at a 5.5 margin and that’s sure to attract a bit of action as well.

Yeovil are in a similar situation in a market with the exact same price structure. The Premier League side are available at 1.28 while the lower league upstarts are available at a 10.0 listing with a 5.5 draw price. That one is open as well but you reckon that the Southcoasters will be more than ready for this one having not played in mid-week. Of the two matches like that, you get the feeling Sunderland may be more likely to slip up.

The exciting Sunday fixture is Chelsea taking on Stoke City and the Potters have proven they can tangle with pretty much anybody on their day. Chelsea go into the match as the red-hot 1.25 favourites and it tells you something about the volume that bookmakers are expecting on the race.

Stoke City are a 10.0 shot and that looks a much more likely result than Yeovil beating Southampton as we have definitely seen Chelsea drop points against smaller sides this season. Though Jose Mourinho’s team are in good form at the moment, that may be an interesting option to close out your weekend football wagers. Look for the odds on Stoke to rise shortly before the kick-off as many will be looking to back Chelsea at odds-on to recoup any losses suffered over the weekend.
