In-Form Norwich Take on United This Saturday

Sir Alex Ferguson will have his Manchester United side fired up for this fixture against Norwich as the Red Devils have now dropped points to lesser opposition in their past two matches – having seriously taken the gloss off their scintillating start of the season.

Norwich will be travelling to Old Trafford this weekend and many observers had listed them as a surety for the drop – and that's something that Norwich appear to disagree with substantially. The Canaries now sit ninth and they've been stringing together a good run of results and looking like they can offer a consistent challenge to mid-table Premier League sides. That's the type of thing that keeps a team up at the end of the season.

They are long odds to get a result at United but you reckon that Norwich just might fancy this one, especially after United's injury issues are continuing to accumulate – especially up front. With Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez out for most if not all of Tuesday's fixture it was quickly obvious that United were lacking inspiration and a cutting edge up front.

One of the big parts about Nani's game is the ability to find space – and this is, more often than not, space created by Rooney and Hernandez's off the ball running and ability to lead defenders away. He isn't able to pull off those long-range efforts or lightning runs from the flank if he has to weave through crazy traffic grouped around the edge of the box.

Punters will find Manchester United priced as low as 1/6 to win this fixture with Norwich trading at a lengthy 16/1. A draw, which would infuriate United fans, is listed at 6/1.

Wayne Rooney is considered the favourite to open the scoring in this fixture and the bookmakers have him priced around 5/2 to do so with Chicharito available at a 3/1 listing. Danny Welbeck took two nice goals on Tuesday but then misfired for the rest of the match despite having several excellent chances come his way. Welbeck is priced at 7/2 to open the scoring once again and he might be worth a look as he plays much better when paired with Rooney and Hernandez in a three-man strike force.

Ashley Young represents some good value at 7/1 and he scored a vital goal at the death on Tuesday. He'll be looking to build on that.
