At this point in the game, all the groups are already sorted out but there’s a few that should still see some competitive action - these will likely see the heaviest volume and you can also expect plenty of late volume as the odds shift around a bit 20 minutes or so prior to kick off once the team sheets have been able to settle into the minds of punters far and wide.

AC Milan face off at home against Zenit St Petersburg - you can expect the Russian side to put up some stiff competition but they’ve really been quite off the pace this year in the Champions League, without registering a single point in any of their away fixtures. The 9/5 floated on them to win by the bookmakers is a bit of a weird price and, while Milan may opt to give some squad players a run-out, you can still expect them to want to perform in front of the home fans. There isn’t much to play for here for Zenit other than a Europa League spot.

Milan can be backed at a 6/4 price tag and that’s pretty good odds at this point - especially when you consider that they’ll be playing in front of their home fans. They haven’t been able to notch a victory there yet during the Group stage and you might reckon that they’re due.

Neutral punters and even a few Milan fans will likely favour the draw at 9/4 - this fixture offers value all around no matter which option you’re backing in the 1X2 betting. Again, it’s important to keep your eye on the teamsheets before you’re making any goalscorer wagers, particularly in fixtures like this one where one side may opt for more players that don’t normally start Champions league matches. Look for Alexandre Pato to grab an anytime goal at 7/4.
