Chelsea have themselves established at the top of the table by a three point margin over Arsenal, who have had one of their brightest starts to the season, in terms of results, for several years and you also get the feeling that this Arsenal side haven't quite reached their peak yet in terms of skill and potency at the same time.

The Gunners sit on 34 points, three back from their cross-town rivals Chelsea, while Liverpool remain right in the mix at this point with a total of 31 points putting them six off the lead and within reasonable striking distance of top spot by New Years Day if Chelsea manage to lose a match or two over the next crucial two weeks.

Manchester City were soundly beaten by struggling champions Leicester City (currently languishing in 14th place) at the weekend and you now find them a point behind Liverpool sitting in fourth place. They face a much more winnable fixture this week but the fact remains that anything less than a win would be enough to see their new manager Pep Guardiola facing a mini crisis at such an important time on the season.

Spurs were on the losing end of a 1-0 scoreline when they were toppled by Manchester United last Sunday and you'll find that they still remain a full match ahead of the Red Devils with a total of 27 points ahead of Jose Mourinho's men and their haul of 24.
