PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING UPDATE

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all took maximum points from their respective games at the weekend and the trio currently occupy the top three places in the Premier League table.
With Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City all not playing until Sunday Chelsea kept up the pressure on the chasing pack with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday. United were then forced to work hard for all three points away to Stoke as a Javier Hernandez double secured a 2-1 win. Then the big match of the weekend between Arsenal and Manchester City ended in a flattering 3-0 victory in favour of The Gunners after Derdyk Boyata was sent off early on.
Victor Chandler are currently offering odds of 8/13 on Chelsea retaining the Premier League title, 4/1 on Manchester United regaining it, 11/2 on Arsenal ending seven years of hurt and 8/1 on Manchester City becoming only the fifth different club to win the Premier League title.
At the other end of the table West Ham and Wolves remain marooned on just six points after defeats against Newcastle and Chelsea respectively. Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers wasn’t enough to lift them out of the drop zone but they do join Rovers and Fulham on nine points. Everton, Blackpool, Stoke, Wigan and Birmingham are all slightly better off with 10 points.
Despite their impressive start Stan James still make Blackpool the 8/13 favourites to be relegated, Wolves are 4/6 to go down and West Ham are 11/10 to make up the trio. Wigan are seen as the next side most likely to be playing Championship football next season and are 5/4 to be relegated.
Liverpool’s narrow victory over Blackburn may have alleviated a small amount of pressure on manager Roy Hodgson but the bookmakers are still favouring the 64-year-old to be the next to be given the boot. William Hill offer the shortest odds of just 4/6 that he is the next Premier League manager to vacate his position.
