Spain Wins the 2010 World Cup, but Brazil Favoured in 2014
- By A.J. Ryder on July 12, 2010 05:04 GMTWhat a match! Even though it was a supremely low-scoring affair it was still arguably the most action-packed nil-nil draw ever seen, and this doesn't even include the drama of penalties.
Now that Spain has finally won their first ever World Cup, the attention for many people is going to turn to the 2014 World Cup which will be kicking off in Brazil. Winning a World Cup in the most football-crazed nation on the planet is one thing, but if anybody can dispose of Brazil on their home turf it will be even more impressive.
The atmosphere will be unbelievable in all the stadiums and I think that the Brazilian public will definitely be looking forward to hosting the world at their doorstep.
Unsurprisingly, Brazil are considered to the outright favourites to win the 2014 World Cup even though Spain will be the defending champions.
Somewhat surprisingly, bookmakers have priced Brazil as the 3/1 favourites to win the 2014 World Cup.
Argentina will be playing right next door so it makes sense to favour them to put in a solid performance.
Despite being the reigning champions, Spain's odds to win the 2014 World Cup are trading at 7/1, putting them in as the clear third favourites. Germany had a great 2010 World Cup and they'll be well-poised to build on their impressive performance.
It's been a great month covering all of these matches and be sure to come back to Betting Choice often in the run-up to the domestic football seasons starting in August.
