Jewson Novices
Contenders must tackle a grueling seventeen obstacles as they go 2m4f over the new course at Cheltenham. The race is open to five year-olds and up and it's considered to be the premier destination for jumpers who've spent at least a year going over timber. The race unfolds each year on the third day of the Cheltenham Festival and a breakout performance here will usually see a horse challenging for honours in Grade 1's the following year. A horse that can win the Jewson is usually well on his way to being stretched out to 3m.
Notable Runners
Captain Chris - Currently priced as low as 5/1 in the ante post, this Philip Hobbs-trained contender hasn't finished outside the top two in eight races.
Noble Prince - He's run 122 in his three outings this year and was twice beaten by Realt Dubh, who looks to be skipping this race. He was Group 2-placed on the flat.
Robinson Collonges - He didn't run his best race in his last effort at Cheltenham but a three-month freshening will have given him some help. If he jumps fluently, he'll be in the mix.
