Betting on politics goes back a long way, and (ironically enough) the approach to it is similar to wagering on reality TV events.

The complications that arose during the last UK election, where a coalition government was formed between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, was proof-positive that political betting can achieve critical mass. Antepost wagering is available on long-term political bets including who will win the next election, when will the election be called and percentage of the popular vote. Finally, betting on the mayoral races for big cities, like London, is usually on offer.
