Steve Kean Favoured for the Sack at Blackburn

After jetting off to India for a “normal conversation” with the club's ownership, Blackburn manager Steve Kean looks to really be up against it heading into the month of October. Protests in the stands and a serious lack of results on the pitch have led to a serious ratcheting up of pressure on the manager.

Blackburn now trade as the third-favourite to be relegated at the end of the season – paying out a price of even money.

Only Swansea and Norwich, who have both actually been getting a few results here and there, trade at a lower price than Rovers with both sides listed at 4/5 odds. Wigan is the other club seriously in the mix and you'll find them trading around 11/10 at the moment. Bolton could also face the drop at 9/4 while bookies seem to have the utmost confidence in QPR at the moment with a rather lengthy 11/4 price showing that the London side has staying power.

In regards to Steve Kean, he himself trades at a 1/2 margin to be the next Premier League manager shown the door and, aside from maybe Arsene Wenger, there aren't too many other managers facing genuine pressure at the moment. The majority of the clubs doing poorly weren't expected to do that well as it is so the pressure just isn't really there. The problem for Kean has been that Blackburn are just absolutely pants this year.

Blackburn have only amassed four total points all year and that must be a serious concern for both the fans and the management. Chicken commercials in India don't carry the same weight if they star a Championship level side, so obviously something must be done. Only Bolton sit lower than Blackburn with a mere three points accumulated.
