Tottenham vs Manchester United Betting Tips

One of the most wide-open fixtures of the weekend looks to be one of the highest-profile matches as Spurs face off against United in a match that has the bookmakers as puzzled as anyone. With United flying high at the top of the Premier League but not exactly winning in entirely convincing fashion, it seems as though there are many who think the Red Devils might just struggle against a resurgent Spurs side in front of their home fans.

United pulled off a victory against West Ham during mid-week and we all saw Wayne Rooney come back to net the winner and simultaneously miss a penalty by a country mile. It’s unfortunate that he wasn’t able to cap off a fairly good performance with a brace, but he will be buoyed by his performance and should kick on to play well again here.

Robin Van Persie has been the key man so far this season and he looks every bit the bargain despite his high price tag. United rested him in their last match and it looks as though you can expect Fergie to name his best possible line-up.

Manchester City pulled off a fairly straightforward victory on Saturday and they will be watching this one keenly and willing United to drop vital points.

Spurs are trading at a 2/1 price to get all three points on the day while United are the 6/4 favourite. The draw can be backed at 21/10 and that is going to be a pretty popular option with neutral fans.

Spurs will need a big performance from Gareth Bale and punters can lock in a 6/1 price with William Hill for Bale to score and Spurs to win the match. On the opposite side of the coin, should United get the win and Robin Van Persie score at any point, you’re looking at a very reasonable 3/1.

Both teams look capable of letting a few goals in and scoring a few themselves. This one could be a higher-scoring affair than most or it could wind up a 0-0 draw. Look for Shinji Kagawa to be named in the starting line-up and really look to put his stamp on this game.

Van Persie is 10/11 for an anytime goal, while Chicharito and Rooney trade at 6/4 anytime.
