WAYNE ROONEY BETTING: INJURY WAS FABRICATED

Wayne Rooney has contradicted club manager Sir Alex Ferguson by claiming that he has not had an ankle injury at all this season. The Manchester United striker missed the 3-3 draw with Everton following revelations about his private life and was subsequently left out of games against Valencia and Sunderland as Ferguson claimed that Rooney had a niggling ankle injury.
However, when asked about his fitness problems today Rooney responded saying: "No, I've had no ankle problem all season," before adding that he did not know why Ferguson had said he had an injury.
Manchester United face West Brom at Old Trafford this weekend looking to get their title challenge back on track. Stan James offer odds of 7/2 that Rooney gets the first goal of the game and Evens that he scores at anytime.
In cricket, Bangladesh have recorded their first ever ODI series win over a full strength Full Member opponent by beating New Zealand by 9 runs earlier today. The win put Bangladesh 3-0 up in the five match series and marked a historic moment in the nation’s sporting history.
Perhaps most rewarding of all is the fact that they did it without the talismanic Tamim Iqbal. A factor which helps represent the strength and depth that Bangladeshi cricket now has. The fifth and final ODI of the series takes place on Sunday morning with Bangladesh still available to back at a surprisingly big 3.0 (2/1) on Betfair.
And a final, non-betting related word goes to the 33 Chilean miners who were rescued over the course of the last two days. It’s nice to see a good news story on our television screens for once.
