Wednesday Premier League Betting Tips Part 1

There's going to be some stellar midweek fixtures kicking off shortly and there's a few interesting betting opportunities starting to develop as well. There are only a handful of short-odds favourites here today with United, City and Chelsea looking to be the safest bets according to the bookmaker. However, with things going the way that they have as of late in the top flight of English football, there could be a few upsets happening today.

Chelsea vs Fulham is tilted heavily in favour of the Blues but many might think that this one is a chance to bet against them with Fulham having shown that they can hold their own against higher-calibre competition and many thinking Rafa Benitez may not have the dressing room on his side. If Chelsea come ahead and put together an impressive 5-0 win or something like that then Rafa will have done plenty to help dispel the animosity directed at him after being appointed to the seat following the departure of Roberto Di Matteo.

Fernando Torres will certainly start and it's interesting that Romelu Lukaku has been performing better in his loan role for the Baggies than big-money signing Torres. He actually looks to be tearing the team apart with Abramovich seemingly all in on the Spanish striker.

Punters will find Chelsea at a 4/9 price for the win at Stamford Bridge while Fulham trade at a 13/2 price tag. Could you imagine if Fulham scores early and Chelsea go into the break behind? The hostility aimed at Rafa could be epic.

Anybody who does fancy Torres to grab a goal can back him to score anytime at even money while he's priced at 4/1 to get a goal first or last. He's 9/2 to get two or more and 25/1 to grab a hat trick. The real value looks to be on Dimitar Berbatov who always looks to be at the hub of Fulham's offensive activity. He's trading at a 10/3 price for an anytime goal while he's 9/1 to open the scoring. That's a great price on an in-form player who is no stranger to scoring against quality sides.

Everton vs Arsenal looks to be a toss-up with Everton at 6/4 and Arsenal priced at a 15/8 listing. The draw sits at 11/5 so this one is anybody's guess. A few years ago, Arsenal would have gone into this one as significant favourites to get the result but David Moyes' men have been performing quite well this year and look capable of giving anybody a game.

Look for a few goals in this one with Olivier Giroud at 15/8 anytime and Marouane Fellaini at a solid 6/4 price tag. In Everton matches, it can sometimes be worth keeping your eye on Phil Jagielka to grab a goal and he's at 12/1 to score at any point in the match.
