Floyd Mayweather Set to Dominate Victor Ortiz

The biggest buzz in the boxing world since the infamous Pacquiao-Mayweather non-fight saga now looks to be the Mayweather vs Amir Khan fight tentatively slated in everybody's mind for fall of 2012. While Mayweather is still noncommittal to a fight with Khan, the Bolton-based fighter has made it obvious that he seeks a career-defining fight with the pugilistic superstar.
Before anything happens, both fighters will be required to fight again with Mayweather set to come out of semi-retirement to fight Victor Ortiz in September. This one looks to be another stroll for Mayweather and many will be hoping Ortiz comes into the fight in top shape and genuinely wants to push Mayweather all the way.
It would be very interesting to see Ortiz sneak a result in this one and how it would affect the possibility of a Khan fight. It isn't like Floyd Mayweather to ever feel the need to prove anything to anybody.
Mayweather must win convincingly and these odds pretty much confirm that. Look for him as low as 1/8 outright with Ortiz trading at a full 9/2 price tag for a victory by any method. It probably won't come as a big shock that a Mayweather victory on points is the most likely outcome – trading at a slim 4/9 listing. Should Mayweather be able to pull off a KO, TKO or stoppage victory then punters will be enjoying returns of just over 2/1.
Should Ortiz defy the odds then he is favoured to do it by a KO or TKO. He's listed at a 7/1 price to pull that off while a seemingly impossible decision win over Mayweather rewards at a full 14/1.
With many observers cooling expectation of a 2012 superfight, fight-fans everywhere will be hoping that Mayweather offers up some clue to a potential fight with Khan should he pull off an emphatic victory against Ortiz.
