There has definitely been a bit of controversy starting to dominate the news emanating from the 2011 US Open, especially when it comes to the weather and players being forced to play in potentially unsafe conditions. The pressure is on to get the television audience satisfied with the latest play-off action as the quarter-finals are now well and truly under way.

Virtually all four of the leading contenders on the men's side are still very much in the mix here but Novak Djokovic's price has been dropping steadily after a series of high-quality performances. As it currently stands, the men's division is considered much more competitive than the women's division and that's why you'll find Djokovic available at an 8/11 price tag.
Both Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer are both available at 9/2 margins while Andy Murray is still very much a part of the picture with an 11/2 price.
These are the only four plausibly-priced winners with the odds taking a significant jump to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at 18/1 and then to Jon Isner at a hefty 50/1. Andy Roddick is still in the competition but isn't fancied to get the job done – trading upwards of 66/1.
Only eight players remain in the women's division and Serena Williams is being well-backed to capture another US Open title. Her sister was forced to withdraw for medical reasons but the alternate Williams is taking plenty of money and looking nearly unstoppable at a slim 4/11.
The closest competitors are Wozniacki and Zvonareva who are both trading at 8/1. At the time of this writing, Serena Williams is set to face off against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in a few moments time and is as low as 1/16 with the upstart competitor at a full 15/2.
