The Men's 4x100m relay is going to be one of the most watched events at the 2012 Olympics and it's probably not a major surprise that Jamaica go into it as the outright betting favourites with a 4/11 price tag. They are up against it with the Americans available at 5/2 while Canada will be looking to repeat their 1996 heroics and come home at a massive 66/1.

The USA are expected to dominate the 4x400m relay and the bookmakers have them trading as short as 1/6 with Jamaica way out there at 10/1. This one is definitely a selection to add to the parlay tickets.

Additionally, anybody to break the world record in the Men's 100m would reward at an 11/4 price.

Heading towards the swimming pool, we have Cesar Cielo considered to be the outright choice for the Men's 50m Freestyle with a 4/6 listing. Expect the likes of Cullen Jones and Anthony Ervin to press him all the way – both trade at 6/1. James Magnussen is a solid 8/1 outside shot.

Speaking of Magnussen, he gets the nod at 4/9 while James Roberts can be backed at a 6/1 price. Cesar Cielo is an 8/1 shot here.

In the men's 100m butterfly, Michael Phelps is a massive 1/2 favourite with only Milorad Cavic and Konrad Czerniak considered to be threats with 6/1 and 7/1 prices out there. This one isn't exactly considered to be Phelps best distance but he is still getting some heavy favouritism.
