2021 Masters Betting Preview

There is only a couple of months to go before we are treated to our second iteration of the Masters in less than half a year. After the last tournament was delayed into the fall, we’re back on the regular schedule this time around and we can look forward to a few big days at Augusta National in Georgia.

With so many great players getting back into the swing of things lately, you can bank on this being an especially competitive iteration of the biggest major championship in the world of golf. As the sport is evolving and certain players are beginning to stand out above others in terms of their approach to the game, you can assume that we are in for a real treat.

As it currently stands, Dustin Johnson is trading as the outright favourite to win the Green Jacket with a price of 7/1 being floated by a number of top bookmakers. You’ll find he’s at 13/2 with most but you can still pick him up at 7s with several top outfits right now.

Rory McIlroy is always underpriced by European bookmakers and though he put in a decent outing at the tournament in 2020, he’s trading as the second favourite right now and he probably shouldn’t be listed at the 9/1 he’s trading at right now. The Northern Irishman hasn’t won a major championship in a while and he could be looking to this big one at Augusta to make another huge impression.

Bryson DeChambeau was the most controversial player at last year’s Masters after his beefed up appearance and ability to hit incredibly long drives looked like it could set him apart. However, while it is definitely an asset at major courses, the tricky greens and fairways of Augusta make his power a moot point.

You’ll find DeChambeau available around a 9/1 price to win the Masters with a few books trading him around 11/1. Jon Rahm is right in the mix at 11/1 as well and you’ll also find Justin Thomas listed at an identical price. Brooks Keopka can be backed as high as a 16/1 margin.
