- By A.J. Ryder on September 5, 2016 18:41 GMTWe are now just a couple of weeks away from the widely anticipated US Presidential debates and just a short two months from the actual election itself. In a campaign that has seemingly taken years to conduct (mostly because it did actually take years), we look ahead to the race really picking up and geting interesting as we go forward.

If you paid attention to the mainstream American media over the month of August you would have thought that Donald Trump was on the verge of dropping out of the race. Shortly after the Republican convention, the press seemed to decide that not only was Trump not going to pick up in the polls but that Republican insiders were panicking to replace him and there was even talk that Trump himself never even wanted to pursue it anymore.
This was all hogwash by an overly desperate media determined to protect their candidate who has still not given a press conference in nearly a year. Just over the weekend, the US Department of Justice released a cadre of condemning information (on Labor Day weekend, conveniently) that showed that Hillary Clinton lost over 13 Blackberries and 3 tablet computers during her four year stint as Secretary of State.
When you add this in to all of the other problems that have been washing up for Hillary – not the least of which has been her right-hand Huma Abedin splitting off from her ne'er do well husband Anthony Wiener because of another sexting scandal. Things are going from bad to worse for Hillary even if the media is determined to protect her and the fact that she has Barack Obama already out on the campaign trail advocating for her (something that is historically not really done by sitting presidents) tells you a lot about their reactions to the internal polling.
The simple fact is that people are not excited about Hillary and no attempts to hide her or have the press engage in aggressive gamesmanship to try to define Trump and then immediately move the goal posts no matter what he does.
