Anderson Looks to Consolidate

Gary Anderson takes on Terry Jenkins in week nine of the Premier League darts from the A.E.C.C. in Aberdeen.
Having bounced back to winning ways with a narrow 8-6 victory over James Wade last week the Flying Scotsman moved back to second place in the table and into prime position for a semi-final spot. Jenkins, on the other hand, was on the receiving end of a rather tame 8-3 defeat to Simon Whitlock and has it all to do if he is to progress past the group stages.
Anderson could have slipped out of the top four with defeat last week having lost the three weeks previous.
"It's a relief because I was panicking after three weeks without a win," said the Scot. "It was a scrappy game in some ways, despite us hitting 11 180s, and James didn't get going.
"He has been struggling a bit and it was about who had enough on the night to get the win. James had a chance to go two legs up and he missed, I pinched it and did well in the last few legs, especially the 11-darter to go 7-6 up."
The bookmakers make Jenkins the rank outsider to pick up two points here and he can be backed at odds of 7/2. Anderson is 4/9 to make it back-to-back victories and the draw is priced at 9/2.
Wade’s loss to Anderson last week left him rooted to the bottom of the table and last year’s runner-up is now struggling to qualify for the knockout stages of the Premier League. This week he faces World Champion Adrian Lewis knowing that defeat could all but signal the end of his challenge.
Lewis continued his run of good form with an emphatic 8-1 victory over Mark Webster last week but is still far from guaranteed a place in the semi-finals. Although Lewis currently occupies fourth place Simon Whitlock is just one point behind him in fifth.
The bookmakers have Lewis down as a 4/6 chance to pick up the two points here with Wade a 9/4 chance to get on the winning trail and the draw priced at 9/2.
