Snow on Christmas Day Betting 2019
- By A.J. It can be a nice way to add a bit of spice to your December 25th - which is typically a day where you won’t really find anything unfolding for you to actually wager on.
This time around, the bookmakers seem to think that a variety of Canadian cities are the most likely to see snow on the day and the prices they have listed are definitely reflecting that.
Winnipeg, Manitoba is the current favourite to receive snow on Christmas Day and they are being floated as low as a 1/16 price for that - making it a very low return on the day. Montreal, Quebec is priced at a ⅕ listing and that’s not bad for 20% return, particularly if you’re looking at the forecast.
Anybody who has travelled through eastern Canada at Christmas will tell you that it’s typically snowing in Montreal. The countrys’ capital Ottawa is priced at a slim ¼ listing while Toronto to see snow on Christmas Day will be priced at around a 4/11 listing at this point.
Vancouver has a distinctly different climate than the rest of Canada and they are a 5/4 margin to receive snow on Christmas Day and the fact that they use the measurements from the airport makes a distinct difference here. Vancouver has big mountains that typically see plenty of snow through the winter, but the airport is right next to the warm Pacific Ocean - it rarely snows in Vancouver, proper.
Other cities include the likes of Edinburgh at a 5/2 margin, Belfast at 9/2, Birmingham at 7/1, and London (Heathrow) at a 10/1 margin.
