Taylor Seeks Revenge in Birmingham

Phil Taylor takes on Adrian Lewis in week 11 of the Premier League darts at the N.I.A. in Birmingham this Thursday evening.
Lewis defeated Taylor on the opening night of the Premier League season but ‘The Power’ has not looked back since that defeat winning each of his subsequent eight games to move to the top of the table and secure a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Conversely, Lewis has struggled to find any consistency in his play and a place in the top four is now looking unlikely. A win against the league leader here is of paramount importance to his chances.
The bookmakers have made Taylor the strong 1/3 betting favourite to continue his winning streak here with Lewis priced at 11/2 to secure the double over the 15-time World Champion.
Second-placed Gary Anderson will be looking to pounce on any slip up by Taylor by winning his match against Simon Whitlock. Anderson won the first meeting between the pair 8-5 on the opening night of the tournament.
The Aussie, though, has recuperated in recent weeks and now occupies an all-important top four spot as we approach the end of the league stages. Defeat to a resurgent James Wade last Thursday was his first loss in four weeks.
The bookmakers are favouring Anderson to secure the double over Whitlock at betting odds of 4/5 with the Wizard priced at 2/1 and a draw available to back at odds of 4/1.
Those vying for a semi-final spot need every point that they can get at this stage of the season so we can expect to see the players scrapping for every leg on offer. The tightness of the league means that the difference between qualifying and elimination could come down to the number of legs won over the course of the season.
