Webster in Scintillating Form

Mark Webster takes on Terry ‘The Bull’ Jenkins in the Premier League this Thursday as the Welshman looks to build on the scintillating form he showed in last week’s win over Adrian Lewis.
Webster blew the world champion away with a 110.19 three-dart average – the highest of the tournament so far by some distance – en route to a comfortable 8-2 victory. The win was the perfect riposte to the previous week's disappointment when he lost 8-1 to Gary Anderson.
"It's one of the best wins of my career," said Webster. "I was so bad in Belfast last week, and in the ProTour events in Barnsley I wasn't much better, and you can start panicking, but it's just a bad spell and we all have them at some point.”
The challenge for Webster now is to find a level of consistency in his game and he’ll be looking to start with a win over bottom-of-the-table Jenkins. The Bull has struggled considerably since the opening week and has now lost three matches on the bounce.
The bookmakers have Webster priced as the clear 4/6 favourite to make it back-to-back wins and Jenkins is 5/2 to get his second win of the campaign. It is 4/1 that the game ends in what would be the tournament’s first draw.
The evening’s final fixture sees World Champion Adrian Lewis take on a resurgent Simon Whitlock. Whitlock began this campaign both slowly and poorly losing his opening two fixtures. However, he has been impressive in the last two weeks with wins against James Wade and the aforementioned Jenkins.
Lewis, on the other hand, has had quite a contrasting campaign. He began emphatically with a resounding win against Phil Taylor but has since lost his next three matches to slip towards the bottom of the standings.
The bookmakers are finding this one too difficult to call and have both players priced at 11/8 for the win. With the players so evenly matched the draw at 7/2 cannot be ruled out either.
