I’ve been working as a sports and betting writer since I left City University London in the summer of 2009. Sport has always been a part of my life and the fact I write about it is pretty solid evidence that I was never good enough to play to a very high standard.
I played cricket for Essex until I was 15 and played for Chelmsford City (my local team in Essex) until I was 13. It’s pretty hard to adjust to a life without sport but I was determined to find a way to brand my sporting views on the world and its public!
I watch a lot of football and it’s my strongest sport to write about. I’m the sort of football fan that will watch any game from any league in the world because I just love it. I like to think I know the English football league pretty well, which comes in useful when you’re writing about Premier League and League Two football. My football loves are Leyton Orient in League One (who I’ve been watching since I was four) and Chelmsford City in the Conference South (I’ve lived in Chelmsford my whole life).
Football has the ability to unite people in different ways socially, economically and politically. I write about it because it matters to millions of people and if I can improve the standard of football writing in this world then I like to think I’m doing a good job!
