Glorious Goodwood Betting
Glorious Goodwood is one of the biggest flat racing meetings of the summer season although it does not boast a classic race. Held each year in late July or early August at Goodwood racecourse in West Sussex, it represents a major social event and first-class five days of racing.
Major races unfolding each year include the Sussex Stakes, the Stewards Cup, the Glorious Stakes and the Golden Mile. Goodwood Racecourse is famous for its quirky lay-out and Goodwood horse racing is famous for its quality. It also plays host to to the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Betting pools for the Glorious Goodwood races tend to be biggest on the final day, Saturday, but the Friday contests generally involve substantial amounts wagered. The races here usually feature contenders who have run well at various parts of the July Meeting at Newmarket, the Royal Ascot or the Epsom Derby meeting.
