It's notable that he already has been beaten by Galileo Gold already like many of the others here, having lost out to him with a third place finish at Newmarket in the big contest. He also outran his odds by a good distance that day, coming out of the gates at a hefty 33/1 price tag.
He could be an outside shot here but you reckon that he needs to step it up and find a much higher gear than he has shown in the past to get a real result in this one.
The real wild card is for Qatar Racing Limited as Lightning Spear enters the fray and has just his second start of the year coming in off a third place finish at Royal Ascot against the international sensation Tepin.
Trading as low as a 9/1 margin for this contest many might consider this a bit of an odd placing but here is every chance that we don't really know quite what this horse is capable of but he does boast a lot of potential upside and the placing indicates confidence.
There is every chance that this race winds up being an out and out duel between the likes of The Gurkha and Galileo Gold and that seems to be how the bookmakers are pricing things out. However, the real rwards lay in finding out any of the other contenders who could be poised to spring a surprise here and kick on to achieve a Glorious Goodwood victory.
