2000 Guineas Betting Update

As we are now fully into the spring session of 2017 and many of us are now embracing the return of the flat racing season, it now goes without saying that many of us are turning their attention to the ante-post markets for the upcoming 2000 Guineas.

The Newmarket showpiece, considered to be the first English classic of the year and one that definitely set the tone as we head into the summer months where things get especially interesting at the Oaks and the Derby, in addition to Royal Ascot.  There is a whole lot  to like about this year's  iteration of the 2,000 guineas and you can bank on there being plenty of value in the market if you're looking to go against the horse who appears to be a considerable favor.

At the time of this writing, punters will find Churchill to be the betting standout according to most major bookmakers.  his price is Trading around a 5/4 margin with a number of top bookmakers and you will now noticed a few of them having taken him down into an even-money price tag.

Should this trend continue it would not be surprising at all to see him available at an odds-on price on the day of the race. He deserves the respect he is getting and you can assume that he is only going to get better as the flat season goes on, should he live up to expectations on the day at Newmarket.

You will also find one of the main challengers to be Al Wukair, who has emerged as the main fancy to spoil Churchill's party on the day. A number of bookmakers have him priced as high as a 5/1 margin though many are now seeing him drift down to 4/1 listing  and it's going to be interesting to see how that price hovers around as we get closer to the big day in early May on the Rowley Mile.
