Grand National: Latest Odds and Selections for the Big Race

We’ve got the biggest day in English Jumps Racing set to kick off tomorrow in the 4:15 at Aintree and the odds have more or less stayed about the same up to this point, but we do expect a fair amount of movement over the last 24 hours preceding the big race.

We could be poised for a really big moment tomorrow- with plenty of first-rate jumpers are boasting very long odds at the moment. Even 2008 winner and 2009 runner-up Comply Or Die is currently available at a hefty 18/1 with William Hill.

Grade 2 hero Madison Du Berlais trades at a 50/1 price tag while up-and-comer Tricky Trickster, out of Paul Nicholls’ yard, can be had for a 16/1 payday. Plenty of solid odds out there in a very wide open field.

With a field of 40 contenders- any bet is effectively a 1/40 shot. With so many hurdles and variables, form truly goes out the window. That’s certainly something we saw last year with 100/1 winner Mon Mome- who lines up this time around to defend his title with a 10/1 listing- the fields second-lowest price.

You can find talented jumpers with a reasonable chance of winning as high as 66/1. A lot of the 100/1 and 200/1 horses don’t really stand out, but we did see the highly-priced Cerium finish fifth last year after having been floated as high as 200/1. You can also choose talented shorter-odds contenders on the win-only like Character Building or Snowy Morning-both listed at 16/1.
